I believe that a livable city puts public life at the center of its planning with focus on: • Safety; • Integrated and balanced mobility; • Accessibility; • Inviting public spaces; • Healthy and environment-friendly city According to this criteria, the brazilian city of João Pessoa is far away of being a livable city. It is a growing city that doesn’t scores well in political/social stability. It doesn’t have a good quality of public transit and it is not a safe and confortable city for walking and cycling. It is a seaside town that has a magnificent setting not explored to its fullest potential however.
