The most liveable cities that i know of are: Sydney,Copenhagen,Vienna,Vancouver and Toronto. To be a liveable city, it should be stable in all spheres, have good infrastucture, have a low population density, sustainable and provide support for innovation and development. The picture provided shows the highly congested Nairobi city as people try to move within the city while also trying to find ample parking spaces. This collision of functions within various spaces such as this one cuts across all over Nairobi. First Nairobi is not a very stable city politically and socially.This is greatly influenced by tribal tensions all over Kenya. Poor infrastucture can be attributed to the poor urban planning desicions that have led to slums such as Kibera . The high population density has led to congestion, noisy streets, dusty roads and traffic jams. The lack of sustainability and innovative aspects in the city are due to the lack of both government and citizens initiative. Solutions to make Nairobi liveable is to decentralize its CBD to various areas, better urban planning do organise the colliding functions within the spaces in Nairobi and the government should encourage innovation thus obtain solutions for such issues.
