Have experienced significant heat difference in central business district due to tall building and canopy of trees coupled with high vehicular movement. As you move towards the outskirts of the City and into rural area, there is significant difference in levels of heat. The City of Pune has moderate to cooler temperature with April and May experiencing 40 to 40 degree centigrade. Which are the measures you would propose? Street canopy would be significantly different for the new township within the City + Significant improvement to have green cover + improvement in public transportation. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? The township planning has incorporate new age building design including focusing on creating lung space and de-congestion of central business district. Specific focus is provided on public transportation.
