Waste Services in Leeds are not responsive to householder or small business needs. This leads to dissatisfaction with service, poor sorting of waste for recycling, lack of respect of service providers and fly tipping (illegal disposal of rubbish on unoccupied land). This app would aim to provide a simple mechanism for dialogue. Users can ask which items are to be recycled and how; waste services can ask for additional sorting of waste, users can request replacement of bins or advise of good behaviour (or poor behaviour) of waste service employees. Waste Service can make requests if user behaviour is not appropriate. Generally the creation of a database (users with email address, pictures of material to be recycled etc) should be highly positive and allow the waste service to raise its profile by circulating success stories and advising its priorities. Users have a chance to make requests and advise of problems (instead of as at present simply being told service period will be doubled to save money with no chance of response).
