1) Las Vegas seems to have the biggest difference between urban and rural temperatures in U.S.A., since it is 24°F hotter in the city than the rural area. In city of Miami, it is 17°F hotter than the rural area and in city of Chicago is 21°F hotter than its rural area. 2) In my area there is no any significant effect of UHI, because of the low density of the city and the short buildings. Temperatures are approximately the same between the urban and rural area. 3) Measures that I would propose would be to develop the green architecture and roofs in the city and also add more green areas and trees in the streets. Also, I would recommend to the government to obligate the citizens to paint their houses' roofs white or add green. 4) Since UHI is not observed in my area, there are no any policies concerned about this effect.
