My transportation ecological impact is fairly minimal as I work from home, the remote nature of my job simplifies my day but I do miss the ability to go into an office. When I do leave home I frequently walk to a nearby coffee shop which is about 200 meters or 5 minutes from my apartment or take an Uber to the "Junction Mall" for groceries and vegetables. The lacking walkability of Nairobi is one of the main issues as cars have more rights than pedestrians due to class issues. Due to Nairobi's poor quality public transportation I use Uber or my wife's car for all trips. Later this year we will move back to Canada and use car sharing and public transit due to the simplicity and lower costs.
