Electric cables of Hanoi, often referred to as "mess of tangled overhead power lines" Here in Hanoi, every single house has its own electricity cable connected to the power plant , instead of being merged into a more simple and integrated system. These have by now become part of the identity of Hanoi's landscape and Vietnam in general, often represented on postcards. It is however quite dangerous and adds complexity in terms of engineering as soon as there is any issue with an element of the infrastructures. In the recent years, initiatives have been taken to replace these by underground cable infrastructure by the 2020 horizon. The plan was initiated with the equipment of 36 streets of Hanoi by October 2017. Source: https://en.evn.com.vn/d6/news/Hanoi-has-placed-underground-cables-in-36-streets-66-163-743.aspx
