1) I used Dominican Republic for this exercise it’s dominant fossil fuels are: *Oil products *Coal *Natural Gas 2)The dominant fossil fuels in Dominican Republic are mainly used in Transportation and Power station 3)Policies to reduce CO2 emissions in Dominican Republic will focus on improving the energy efficiency of three sector : 1)Transportation: *Mandatory vehicle fuel efficiency standards for road vehicles. *Adopt measures such as Vehicle fuel economy labels, Infrastructure support, incentive schemes and Vehicle taxes to encourage the purchase of more fuel- efficient vehicles. *Increase Transport system efficiency of national, regional and local transport systems and promote shifts of passengers and freight to more efficient modes. 2)Industry: *Adopt energy management protocol e.g. ISO 50001. *Mandatory MEPS for electric motors and other categories of industrial equipment. 3)Power Station: Ensure that energy utilities support cost-effective, verifiable end-use energy efficiency improvements.
