My top city criteria include: Housing Job Opportunities Education Recreational Possibilities Transportation I live in Nairobi, Kenya. I moved to Nairobi 4 years ago to learn about emerging market business from Canada. My objectives were to gain more International Exposure, learning a new culture, and a lust to travel the world from a unique location. Nairobi is the business hub of East Africa but rates poorly in most quality of life areas including Political Stability, Safety, etc. I stayed beyond 2 years as I met my wife and we are waiting for her Canadian papers with plans to return to Vancouver, Canada later this year. There are vast differences between Vancouver and Nairobi, but the climate and the friendliness of the people are 2 areas in which Nairobi excels. My apartment in Kenya is a 55 out of 100 primarily due to the frequent power/internet outages, lack of sidewalks on the adjacent road and limited nearby public green space. Nairobi in general would probably rank lower, 45 out of 100 as I live in a reasonably high end area although the concept of city planning is lacking.
