I presently live in a closed gate community which offers good ecosystem services. Provisioning services-It provides fruits, wood and fodder to satisfy the population in the entire area. Parts of some trees are used as ornamental resources by the indigenous small-scale developers. Regulating services- The large green cover provides as a natural shelter for small animals like the native birds, insects and snakes.This also helps in temperature regulation during all climates, air purification and underground water replenishment. Cultural services- Its green cover offers ecotherapy and is excellent for recreational purposes. Supporting services- The area acts like a small ecosystem of its own .It promotes nutrient recycling and soil replenishment.
