Irvine, CA Visible information: This region is relatively hilly, and houses are built on the hills. It also shows that California really got hit by the drought. A large patch of the mountains is arid, but some are still green. Some irrigation lines are visible. Invisible: The large patches of yellow on the mountains shows how hard California has been hit by the drought. Irrigation lines shows that the area does not get too much precipitation. The only green areas are those that belong to the houses. Residents want a green garden. Maintaining the trees will take a lot of water, which is not something California likes to hear right now. Hilly area means that the houses have to be built in a less dense fashion, compared to the rest of the city, where it is more densely packed. This is a relatively premium area. The invisible knowledge of yellow patches on the hills shows that California desperately need more water, which means there has to be water saving measures, or invest in sea water purifying technology to get more potable water.
