1. Check the temperature differences in US cities - A: The difference between the temperatures are very clear. The temperature in the cities are way higher than the temperatures in the rural areas due to the heat island effect. 2. Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? A: Temperatures in São Paulo vary in the summer between 32 to 35 degrees while in winter it goes from 19 to 14. Because of the UHI effect the temperature in the cityis 5 degrees higher than in rural areas. It's the biggest city in South America which contributes for the demand of more places to live (more high buildings) and other environmental aspects. 3. Which are the measures you would propose? Make it green! Green roof tops, vertical gardens, more elements for sustainability, more space for bikes, one thing that they implemented is that not all cars are allowed to be used everyday, so, less cars in the streets. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? It does concern, more bikes were implemented and green walls as well, which is good but still a long way to go.
