(4.7°F) Kansas City (4.6°F) Columbus (4.4°F) Minneapolis (4.3°F) Seattle (4.1°F) On average across all 60 cities, urban summer temperatures were 2.4°F hotter than rural temperatures 2- I live in El Merage City, Cairo, Egypt. It Lies on the Rind Road, where millions of trucks, means of transportations, and private cars run omn it daily. This is the mais reason for UHI effect. Moreover the unvegetated roofs for the buildings and they are close to each others. On the other hand, Rural Areas do not have any of these previous reasons. 3- To reduce UHI, we have to make the roofs vegetated to reduce loads for HVAC.Besides, increase the spaces between buildings, with regard to the direction of wind, which reduces UHI as the wind increase. Finally, increase the internal opes and green spaces with some fountains. 4- Unfortunately, my country does not have any policies in my community that are planned to reduce the UHI effect. But if I were a mayor, I would provide facilities to buildings owners related to tax reductions in case they use options to reduce UHT effects.
