As a student in Phoenix , AZ my only way of transportation to and from school/work , is vehicle commuting.The distances are roughly 10 miles from the house and walking is definitely not an option. Using a bicycle is also not the best way as the heat is strong and for a distance like this it takes at least 45 minutes. Public transportation is nearly not existent with the tram running only in the center parts of Phoenix , and the bus not having stations where my home is located. Car use in my opinion is extremely encouraged in Arizona and i believe without a change in policy there is little choice in the hands of the common man that wants to use alternative transportation.
