This photo depicts a house under construction. Living in Canada, private homes of this size are almost always made of light wood frame construction. The wood is a product of Canada. Additionally, this house has a veneer of Arriscraft Stone, which is also found locally, and manufactured just a few cities over. This might be somewhat surprising, since Canada has a service based economy, but because of the large amount of natural resources it only makes sense. However, the global economy does make its way into the small house construction, as steel for the windows is imported, steel is one of Canada's largest material import. Additionally, glass is also often imported from the United States and Europe.
