Paris 15eme, Place du Commerce. A Friday around 7pm, early July. Visible: Moderately narrow street, typical Parisian Haussmanian buildings. The street is crowded, most people walking in the same direction, some stopped in the middle Many shops, medium to higher end. A single direction street for cars but double direction for bicycles; all parking spots are taken and the closest car is parked in a forbidden spot with emergency lights. A man on a bicycle, no separated bicycle road. Very full bins out in the street. A green area with a metro stop and a kiosk (end of the street). World flags decorating the street. Invisible: Chaotic circulation at peak hours: 1)flow of people is unidirectional reflecting a residential neighbourhood where most people commute in the same direction at the same time; 2) bicycles circulating on a single car lane in two directions; 3) cars making stops where it's forbidden Importance of leisure: 1)many shops, all the wrapping in the bins show people shopped a lot; 2)the flags to celebrate the World Football Cup, 3)green spaces, 4)a Mini Cooper making a short stop (perhaps to snack or socialise?)
