From my point of view the five most livable cities are: Zurich, Melbourne, Viena, Vancouver and Copenhagen, in this particular order. From my point of view, five characteristics that make a city livable are: - number and the variety of top class universities - variety of jobs for people with higher education - easy access to any part of the city using public transportation - connectivity of this particular city with other cities - places for spending the free time. Regarding Bucharest, I think that it provides the students with a variety of universities, but not necessary top class, which is not a bad thing all by itself, but I consider that a top class university provides a competition spirit between its students. The variety of jobs for people with higher education is good, but I think that the salaries are unattractive compared with those from other European countries. Public transport is the weak point of Bucharest, due to the fact that it is unattractive and rarely on time and not fast enough. Connectivity with many big cities is good via highways, but not by trains. Bucharest has plenty of parks theatres or tourist attraction to spend free time.
