Exercise 3: Factors of Liveability Step 1: Brasília (Federal District – Brazil) Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais – Brazil) Florianópolis (Santa Catarina – Brazil) Campinas (São Paulo – Brazil) Campos do Goytacases (Rio de Janeiro – Brazil) Step 2: - per capita income; - educational system; - health system; - location (that helps transportation of goods) - low rates of violence (that is direct linked, in my opinion, with per capita income). Step 3: Nowadays, I’m living in Governador Valadares – Minas Gerais, Brazil. The average of per capita income is not to high – I don’t have this information, but according to the Brazilian Institute of Statistics and Geographical data – IBGE, a workman receives, in average, 1.9 minimal payment (or minimal salary a month) – it is about US$ 450,00 per month. But only 35,3% of population (280.091 inhabitants) has a formal job.
