It has a very odd situation in this city I´m living nowadays. About forty years ago, an American enterprise came to the city to help to construct a train line and these American workers starts to date and marry local people. With time, these new families moved to USA and the relatives could realize a better life in US. This was the begging of the most significant case of migration to a foreigner country that happening in Brazil during the XX century. This scenario brought many consequences to the city. People with age from 20 to 40 years old are the majority whose choose to move to USA – the population here is made of elderly people, and children, who main income came from relatives who lives abroad. There is a flow of outcoming people and a flow of income dollars. But I don’t see this a vantage to the city, since here has no industries, nor an strong commerce. I don’t know why, but the city, comparing to others at same area, seems not have a good development.
