Part 1) The five most livable cities to me are... 1) Berlin, Berlin, Germany 2) Amsterdam, Nord Holland, Netherlands 3) Toronto, Ontario, Canada 4) Seattle, Washington, USA 5) Washington, District of Columbia, USA Part 2) The five characteristics in my opinion that add to the livability of a city are... 1) Cost of living 2) Extensive and late-night public transport 3) Cultural enrichment opportunity 4) Endless shopping, dining, and entertainment options 5) Eco-friendly practices Part 3) My own cities Paris and Los Angeles are both very opposite but both suffer many flaws in terms of sustainable. Both suffer extensive pollution problems. Paris suffers street level pollution due to narrow streets and extensive use of diesel fueled motor bikes. Los Angeles suffers general pollution from the "car-culture" and industrial projects that get trapped in the "canyon" that Los Angeles is situated in.
