1. Criteria: safety, culture, education, housing, recreation possibilities 2. I live in Atlanta for its recreation (parks, trails) and cultural activities (art, music, theater). It is also an affordable, safe city, and I appreciate the city's green spaces, friendly charm (known as southern hospitality), and diversity. 3. Livability scale: I would give Atlanta a 70 out of 100 for livability. As a booming city, affordable housing is shrinking, yet, in response to new citizens, the city has expanded recreational possibilities, including expansions for parks and biking trails. Also, newcomers have brought with them distinct cultures, especially from refugee and immigrant populations, and Atlanta's art scene has blossomed on all fronts, but particularly its status as a place to shoot Hollywood films. Atlanta has issues with crime and, where I live, petty crime, such as theft and illegal entering. Furthermore, it is one of the worst traffic cities in the U.S., and this detracts from its allure. 4. The protection and expansion of greenspaces and recreation has been successful, and I would continue these efforts. I would consider new transportation plans to alleviate traffic and provide public alternatives. 5. Move: Tucson (for recreation); Cincinnati (housing, culture); Kansas City (art)
