This picture is of Old City of Bhopal City( Madhya Pradesh State in India). It is taken from a multilevel car parking present in the area. The image shows the vehicular flow and accumulation in the city area during day time. The heavy count of different types of vehicles shows that the area attracts people from entire city, from all income groups. Invisible Information: 1. Parking Demand Calculation 2. Trip Origin and Destination points to find average trip lengths per capita. In context of information 1. A. The parking demand should be calculated by various surveys to overcome parking shortage. Designated parking spaces are falling short as the old city now experiences more population flow(and thus more vehicle flow) than it used to years ago.(It was designed or it grew organically according to then population). The streets are narrower in the inner as one moves inwards. In order to de congest the area of private vehicles, efficient public transport or para transit modes should be proposed. B. The vehicles emit harmful fumes which create polluted environment in this already packed locality. Replacing the motorised with unmotorised can prove out to be an excellent solution for betterment of micro environment of area.
