FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2018-06-18 by Jasmina McKenna
1. The image shows a suburban context: generous front yards with lots of greenery with parking spots and a road. The road has no dedicated walk or cycling path and no marks. The road is also seamed by street lights. 2.1. The lack of marks on the road may indicate that this is a shared space, where motorised traffic travels at low speeds. It could also indicate that the volume on motorised traffic is relatively low. 2.2. Houses are almost not visible because of the large size of gardens (and summer season). 3. The size of the front gardens indicate a relatively high standard of living. Also the fact that every housing plot has one to two parking spots (some of them occupied by camper vans) allow for the assumption of a relatively wealthy community.
