FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 2: "Stocks and Flows"

I have identified three important stocks and flows in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico: water, garbage and people. The first one is potable water. Querétaro has a long history of having a low stock op potable water. For the last couple of years, the city has been bringing water into the city from nearby regions (aprox. 60 km.) in order to comply with the demands of the population. Nevertheless, people in the city is not aware of the scarcity problem Querétaro is facing and hence they don't really care about wasting this precious source. The second flow is solid residues (garbage). The problem with the garbage in Querétaro is that people don't really have or care about sustainability and the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle. Instead of that they just generate a lot of residues and then the garbage collectors take it to some specific locations that, recently have been overused. The consequence of a lack of planning and appropriate residues managing, is that Querétaro's government has allowed some private investors to create sanitary infills in protected natural areas, therefore the flow of garbage leaves the city, but stays in protected areas damaging them.
