FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2016-08-08 by Hannah Bessett
The visible information in this photograph include the physical location of a street, school, and suburban homes, and a glimpse into the regional climate during this particular time of day and year. While only a comparatively tiny piece of land, it reflects the majority of the relatively small, quiet nature of my town. Invisible information includes the directional quality of the traffic on the road at the given moment, as well as the high value of the rain that is about to start falling from the gathered clouds. This particular road is well known and has many offshoots into more populated sectors of the town, and although it is not currently under any restrictions, the community is frequently under a drought watch. An analysis of the street's most popular destinations could aid local businesses when choosing a location, and the knowledge of an arid climate is vital to understanding and meeting the citizens' need for a reliable water supply.
