1) Water - The flow into the city from the river could be a challenge as there are rising demands from the farming communities to get a larger share of the river water for agrarian activities. The city will need to undertake water conservation and rain water harvesting to "generate" water within the city. As earlier we have studied that major cities are being developed along with these river. 2) People - The flow of people are going to increase to the city, the spurt for this will be the growing number of captives being set up in the city. The city will need to find dwelling space, transportation and other supporting infrastructure for this. Density is one major criteria that turn out to be in such a way that people are living in slum areas whereas less amount of land is there. 3)Fruits and Vegetables: There would be much change in this other than the increase in demand to the increase in the flow of people to the city.
