1. My top 5 livability criteria: - Political stability (when talking about countries or regions, not specified in assignment) - Job opportunities - Infrastructure - Recreation possibilities - Education 2. Top 5 reasons why I live in Kongsberg: - This is where the university college I was accepted at is located. - I have family living in the region. - Great opportunities for recreation. Mountain biking (see picture), hiking, fishing, photography, picking berries et cetera. - Rural, but still in high proximity to larger cities (like the capitol, Oslo, which is a big transportation hub for instance). - Interesting industries in terms of potential job opportunities in the future. 3. Rating livability in Kongsberg: - Political stability: 90/100 - Job opportunities: 72/100 - Infrastructure: 85/100 - Recreational opportunities: 94/100 - Education: 85/100 - General livability score for Kongsberg: 87/100 4. What I would change to improve livability in Kongsberg: My first measure would probably be to furter fascilitate recreational opportunities and in that way also boost revenues from experience tourism which in turn could create more jobs as well as being better for the existing population. 5. The 3 places I would move to: - Queenstown, NZ * Recreational opportunities (mountain biking etc) * Job opportunities * Cultural similarities with Norway * Climate * Safety/political stability - Asker municipality, Norway * Job opportunities (right outside the capitol) * Recreational opportunities * Transport/infrastructure * Centrality * Still close to friends from Kongsberg area - Trondheim, Norway * Where I grew up and have my closest family * Job opportunities * Recreation opportunities * Perfect city size (in my mind) both in terms of km2 and population * Infrastructure The picture is taken at one of my local trails that I use to ride my bike, and was taken specifically for this assignment to illustrate the closeness to nature and recreational opportunities just outside our front doors.
