While many of the buildings of Paris are very old and at the time constructed with mostly local materials from Europe, this is no longer the case. France produces very little construction materials in recent years. Dramatic cuts in production were also seen following the Paris Accords, as companies were now forced to comply with stronger green initiatives. A majority of new tin roofing materials are coming from South East Asia and Bolivia rather than France and Germany. Meaning almost every roof, you can see in the following photo contains roofing materials from abroad. This clearly shows how the globalized economy has made it easier and cheaper to import tin from abroad rather than produce it locally.
