This photograph shows the Golf Course Road in Gurgaon - a major bustling road with office buildings on either side, and the Rapid Metro line, which is the local metro system which runs around the city. The city has developed such that it is difficult to travel between any two points as a pedestrian. The development of roads has been emphasized on, and thus private vehicles have become the most used form of transport. The roads of the city have thus become a very prominent part of the city and almost an integral experience as you move in the city. This has since created a need for a cheaper mode of transport for the general public - the Rapid Metro, which is an above-ground transportation system which strongly marks the view of the city from any given point. The fact that the Rapid Metro has gained popularity shows that there is a high level of dependence on basic infrastructure such as public transport, but it must also be acknowledged that the citizens are highly inconvenienced by the layout of the city which for the largest part ignores all pedestrians.
