I believe that a good city app that could make the citizens more interested about their city would be a kind of social network. As nowadays everyone spend most of his time on social networks, I believe that governments could use them as a constructive source of data. I was thinking about a sort of declination of “Instagram” for each city or region, in which everyone would be allowed to register and publish pictures of the city or region. The app could be divided into two big parts: one with a thumb up, in which everyone could post something he appreciated and liked about the city; the second with a thumb down where everyone could post everything he disliked or any kind of problem of the city he bumped into. This app could be managed and revised by the municipality and it would be a huge source of feedback from both the citizens or not and would make it easier to understand how the government could work in order to improve the life quality of its citizens.
