1. WHAT ARE THE DOMINANT FOSSIL FUELS USED IN YOUR COUNTRY? • Based on the data provided by www.iea.org/sankey, in India, the dominant fossil fuels used are: Biofuel, Oil (which is predominantly imported) and Coal. 2. WHERE ARE THE DOMINANT FOSSIL FUELS MAINLY USED FOR IN YOUR COUNTRY? • Various industries in India use different fuels, but mainly coal energy is used. Transport uses oil products and biofuel is highly used in Residential sector and is the main cause of air pollution in my country. 3. IT IS YOUR TASK TO CREATE A NEW POLICY IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY AND SUSTAINABLE SOURCES AND CONSUMPTION OF ENERGY OF YOUR COUNTRY. HOW WOULD YOU DO THAT? THINK OF HOW YOU CAN IMPROVE THE SOURCES AND THE CONSUMPTION OF ENERGY. • India has a vast scope to harness an eco-friendly resource and that is Solar Energy, most of the country being having year round availability of the resource. Solar power plants may replace the coal plants but not the hydro electric plant areas. • Making electricity cheaper and available to every corner will reduce use of biofuel. And education capmpain regarding environment will also help in this regard.
