The app is designed to track and display trash left in the city. A user is asked to photograph trash they see lying around. After doing so, they are reminded to please pick it up and throw it in the nearest bin. Trash locations may also be inputted by selecting spots on the map. The information can then be used to identify spots where new public trash bins should be placed, or where municipal services could be better distributed to clean the garbage up. The map is color coded based on density of trash, to better identify troublesome areas. Existing public bins are identified on the map. Photographs of trash are evaluated based on the phone's GPS and orientation, to determine where on the map to place the trash markers. Statistically suspicious inputs are provided to other users to confirm.
