Proposed is an eco-friendly commuting app that lets people travel easily, safely, and economically. It has 3 features: 1. Cycle Rental Citizens can rent cycles on the app. Smart cycle stands are placed across the city with cycles docked. Users simply book a cycle on the app, pick it from the stand, cycle, and dock it at a stand nearby their destination. Payments are automatically made via a linked eWallet. (Note: This feature is primarily viable for cities with established cycling lanes. Mumbai unfortunately does not have this facility uniformly) 2. Book Demand-responsive Transit (DRT) Citizens can dynamically book public transport buses that have flexible routing and scheduling between their pick-up and drop locations. 3. Car Dashcam The app pairs with citizen’s car dashcam or is itself used as a dashcam while driving. Recorded stream is uploaded via 5G (launching in 2020) on a secure blockchain cloud. Machine-vision algorithms detect and send aid to the driver in the event of an accident. The system also detects and fines recorded traffic violators. This results in greater traffic obedience and citizen safety.
