My idea is an app that harnesses the geo-location of mobile phones the same way it tracks traffic flow in cities. The same way it tracks traffic flow it could also track pedestrian flow and pedestrian migration throughout the day. We can then track the routes pedestrians like to take and then the routes they don't like to take. Use the information to create a better pedestrian experience in the less used zones or just go and inspect why pedestrians don't take those routes. It might be because it is too dangerous or the experience of walking through some neighborhoods aren't great. All in all the more people we get out of their vehicles and walking, the cleaner we can get our cities and make more use of the urban landscape.
