The dominant fossil fuel used in my country is oil and it is mainly used for transportation purposes. The policy I propose is to stop producing coal, since this energy is totally exported to obtain profits but is a great environmental damage for Colombia. Instead of obtaining financial resources from coal, we can produce food for other countries. We are exporting more than 75 percent of the oil production, which means we are damaging our country for economy purposes. In Colombia we can take advantage of the abundant sun energy in the caribean coast and the east plains in order to replace the hazards caused by fossil fuel extractions. The following picture is La Guajira, where we can install energy generators by wind and sun panels. Our government is wasting alternative sources of energy that need to be better considered.
