South Africa is a country where a big part of the population is dependent on public transport. Most common are the taxi mini busses that clog the roads of the inner city. There is now infrastructure for these mini busses. They make use of the same lanes private cars do and they stop where ever they see fit, often in dangerous places blocking off streets or turn offs etc. As part of a revamp of the inner city they have introduced large city busses, that have been given special lanes in the street to jump the traffic and have been given special bus stop points on elevated levels which has reduced the number of mini busses, increased the safety for passengers getting on and off and has made traveling much more pleasant.
