FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2018-03-06 by Leah
This photo shows a street in central London, a busy urban area. Visible data we can see includes the mix of both old and contemporary buildings, cranes being used in construction, traffic (including public transport), and people. The people in the picture could be tourists, as central London is a popular tourist destination, or workers since many offices and businesses are based in this area. Invisible data can include data from taxis, which may tell us how far people travel when taking taxis. Invisible data also includes data from buses telling us how many people take certain bus routes, their ages, and when those buses are being used by people most. This could allow us to develop certain bus journeys to make them more suitable for more people. For example, if there is a particular bus that is being most used at a certain time of day, more frequent buses journeys could run around this time to benefit people's travel.
