The image is taken in Sidhpur, Gujarat in Najampura. The place doesn’t have developed means of transportation but definitely has broad roads where houses are raised on stilts because the basements are used for storage of water tanks to keep the ground floor cool. The means of transport are mainly by 2 wheelers, auto rickshaws, hand carts, bullock carts or private vehicles in a very rare case. Most of these houses are dilapidated and some had to be restored and reconstructed. The health is a crucial aspect to be tackled, the newer houses built do not have connections to the main drainage system and hence dig holes behind their houses that go 25 feet deep and collect the waste of their houses and this keeps rotating with time periods. The electricity lines are visible as they entangle up to form a network and most of the houses since not in use don’t have connections.
