The Port in Cartagena is a perfect example of how much our Society is dependant in good Transportation ways. In Colombia we Import a lot of goods but it is very expensive due to the lack of transpotration infrastructure within the Country. We can recieve Cheap goods in our Ports but internal Distribution is expensive and slow. Geographically colombia is in the mittle of the three Andean Mountain range which make distances very Long and difficult to travell. Transportation of goods between cities is mainly done by truck, and the lack of tunnels make distances even longer. We used to have in the past a railway System but with the lack of Management in the Country many of this railway Systems are no longer in use. Given that we have a centralized government in Bogota infrastructure such as good health Institutes, economic Centers which generate Jobs, are far away from the reach of many regions. In consequence they lack Water, Energy, Transportation and health infrastructure because of a poor and mainly improvised urban planning.
