This image is taken in Chennai, India. This photo is a marshland area called Pallikarnai. This is in reference to the stocks and flows of land. Initially this marshland supposed to be one of the beautiful areas, a habitat for rare species of birds has now turned into a waste land and building encroachment area. With the growing population, the supply of land is also low. Because of this, they are turning marsh lands also into land for buildings. The stock-initially the marshland has turned into land for buildings through the flow concept. Vertical constructions are common in India due to unavailability of land. But the negative aspect of this is the waste management. Near Pallikarnai, is a huge waste land for the whole city of Chennai. This indirectly affects the ground water system. Every action is interlinked to each other.
