Although United Kingdom has factories for glass, bricks, aluminium, concrete, steel, etc, it is developed using the global market. The cities in UK, including London, might use products from local companies but the companies often buy their raw material from an international market. The best example of this might be wood. UK does not have enough wood in order to meet the local demand. That is the reason why UK is imports 5.7% of global sawn wood production being fourth largest importer in that area in the world (OEC). On a construction site there is another obvious reference to globalization - machinery. OEC research suggests that import of cars makes over 7% of UKs total import. In conclusion, even a country that produces almost everything needed to build a city, uses global market. Globalization is inevitable.
