In Singapore, this is a picture of a hostel, the newest one in Nanyang Technological University. Construction materials need to be imported from around the world especially sand and granite to build this hostel and even so, other local suppliers of glass and the panels may also import materials from beyond the country to manufacture. Such imports contribute to the overall diversity and globalisation of each building.
