1.TOP LIVABILITY CRITERIA: 1. Built environment 2. Natural environment 3. Job opportunities 4. Infrastructure 5. Climate 2. WHY DO WE LIVE WHERE WE LIVE? I’m living in Budapest, In the capital of Hungary. Reason 1. By us in Hungary our capital has much more cultural density than other cities. It doesn’t mean that there are not any museums, theaters and cultural opportunities. It is much more about the living city where you can find culture also on your way when you are going from a place to an other. Street musicians, artists and so on. Reason 2. In Budapest the built heritage is very diverse. The eclectic citycenter with a lot of very famous ruin-bars has a special atmosphere. If you’ve ever benn in a place like this there’s no question why they are so famous also among the tourists as well. Reason 3. I really like that the city is changing always. It has a special “genius loci” what you can find in each periods. The habitants found in the last few years again the street, the public area. If you compare this period with the latest it has a lot of differences. People hanging around in the small green areas as well, as never before. Reason 4. In Hungary the salary is much better than in other cities. The living costs are higher but not impossible to earn enough to arrange a normal living standard. Also the working tasks are different, because you can find companies which are working on big projects and for international projects too. Reason 5. It is very important for me to have the four seasons. During the global warming period the summer is getting hotter in each year, and I started to miss the real winter with a lot of snow, but it is still important for me. This makes a place very interesting. 3. TO WHAT EXTEND DOES YOUR OWN PLACE OF RESIDENCE FULFILL YOUR IDEAL LIVABILITY CRITERIA? Budapest is the Capital city so it is not just about the mayor to improve the city. In my opinion as a mayor the most important thing is to take care about the economy as the base of any others. 5. WHY DO WE MOVE?
