Water Water is the most important stock and flow in the city of Bogota. Water enters/supplies the city through a major river, Bogota River. This major water source which although appears as a flow, through lakes and reservoirs becomes a stock which the city can store. Water is the fundamental stock and flow, for which growths in population, and most other stocks and flows depend on. Contamination and forest fires threaten this resource. In the future, Bogota River’s decontamination through water treatment plants, and beautification, to make it a desired architectural element, are fundamental for the urban planning of a city whose population is expected to grow exponentially. People Bogota has 8.081 million people of which 260,000 are internal refugees. The growth in population because of refugees and tourism converts this stock into a flow. In the future migration into the city will continue to grow, creating a large floating population and with it a large centralized economy, and a heightened demand for housing. Capital Flow of capital into Bogota by foreign investments influences its urban development greatly. Although the city has a steady stock of capital, growth is largely dependent on foreign investments, and further, on capital exports.
