The main effect of the UHI in Bogotá is the increasing in the temperature 27 C, where the average temperature is 13 C. Bogotá is the capital, the biggest city in Colombia and it is the most important in economy. That is why some surrounding municipalities are widely linked to the city. Municipalities that were agriculture but now, their inhabitants base their economies to those related to find jobs in Bogotá. This creates some problems: first, the loss of agriculture and natural lands due to the aggressive expansion of urban developments; second, the daily transportation of hundreds of thousands of workers and students from home (neighbor municipalities) to work or educational center (Bogotá). Proposals: • The center of the city is not dense inhabited, so I would renew this place to offer more places to live and avoid the problem of people traveling distances between home and work. • Create a massive transportation system, an electric train connecting the center of the city with the peripheries and the close municipalities. • Re-forest the mountains that. Ongoing measures in my City. • Reforesting of sidewalks and public spaces. • Green roofs in governmental and transportation facilities and gas stations.
