Route 01 is the route which I usually take in the mornings because it has less steep roads and less stops. In the evening I choose the route according to the time I leave work and is dependent on traffic. Route 01 is also the route to leave the city so this is avoided in peak hour traffic. The environment for driving is equally beautiful and in both routes when driving by car. Travelling by car is the preferred means of transport as my working hours vary. Walking to work is easy because it is downhill but walking home is more time consuming due to its steepness. Cape Town is known as the windy city and Vredehoek is one of the windiest parts of Cape Town. When the wind speeds are too high it is not advisable to walk anywhere.
