In our city, private construction companies encourage citizens to make token payment and book houses in big housing complexes at the time of starting of the housing project or even before the housing project has started. And after a few years of construction and building use permission, private construction companies handover the management of these housing complexes (particularly the common services) to the Residents Associations of these housing complexes. However, at the time of planning or construction, suggestions of the future residents are never invited (or incorporated) in these housing projects. This leads to lots of problems in most of the housing complexes. Hence, there is an urgent need to engage the citizens, especially the future residents, from the very beginning, taking their suggestions from the draft planning of the housing complex and in the implementation of the project. This could be done by putting the proposed building plan on the website of the construction company and suggestions could be invited through a mobile application at the planning stage and at the construction stage. Also, the future residents can be invited to inspect the construction site anytime to ensure that quality of construction is as promised by the construction company.
