FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2017-12-26 by Piotr
This photo taken in Warsaw is an example of making invisible information visible with the use of modern technology. Normally we would see just architecture - its shape, colour, etc. Out of this information we can make assumptions about the purpose and age of the building. If we want to go deeper we need to uncover the invisible. Physical objects have many parameters. Temperature is one of them - human can only feel the heat by direct contact or proximity to the heat source. From a distance we cannot tell the temperature of our cities. Thermography makes this information visible, allowing us to observe the heat flow in urban areas. This information can be used to indicate the influence of HVAC systems in buildings on the urban climate.
