South Africa often gets classed with the rest of Africa (ROA). As much as we share a continent our geography, topography, infrastructure, service delivery, culture and town planning differs vastly. Even so as much as we would like to call ourselves a developed 1st world city we are in fact still a developing 1st world city.IN the image ou can see 1st world elements like big brand cars, a Virgin Active Health Club and tarred roads the image still lacks 1) Pedestrians and 2) Bicyclists. This is a busy intersection in a popular, affluent suburb in Bryanston. The introduction of a Bicycle lane would either as part of the road infrastructure or onto of the turn would reduce the carbon footprint the city, create a healthier and fitter population and reduce travel/commute times by 300%.
