1 gas, oil, coal. 2 miscellaneous (other) and industry. Followed by transport and non-energy. 3 The Sankey-diagram tells us the ways to improve our environment and to use more sustainable forms of energy. The Netherlands use too much fossil energy. We should change dramatically to energy sources like wind, solar, tide and heat. Holland is famous for traditional windmills. Now we are behind Germany in wind energy. We should build large windmill parks on sea. The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated countries. Let us use our roofs to use the sun! And put all new roofs on the sunny side. Holland is famous for building dams and dikes. Let use our innovation power to combine protection from the sea with energy production. In every wave is energy enclosed. Our agricultural sector uses a lot of heat in the green houses. Let us re-use that heat. On the consumption side we should focus on “roads and residential”. Let us improve our railroads especially for commuters. Make trains more comfortable. Make our homes energy neutral. The government should give tax cuts to home owners (both small owners as the large social housing corporations) who invest.
